The Role of Chorionicity in Placenta-Related Disorders.

Introduction: Twin pregnancy is associated with higher rates of maternal morbidities including gestational diabetes and hypertension. Dichorionic twins are believed to have greater placental mass. Our objective was to study the incidence of two placenta-related disorders: gestational diabetes and hypertension, in dichorionic versus monochorionic twin pregnancies.

Infracoccygeal/transperineal window: new method to prenatally diagnose and classify level of anal atresia.

Objectives: To introduce a two-dimensional sonographic method to assess the fetal anus, and to evaluate the feasibility of this method to diagnose anal atresia prenatally and identify the presence or absence of anoperineal fistula (in males) and anovestibular fistula (in females).

Methods: This was an observational study of suspected cases of anal atresia referred to a single center in Israel between August 2018 and October 2023. In addition to conventional evaluation of the perineum in the axial plane, fetuses referred to our center for suspected malformation were scanned with a new method termed the 'infracoccygeal/transperineal window'.

Amniocentesis in pregnancies at or beyond 24 weeks: an international multicenter study.

Background: Amniocentesis for genetic diagnosis is most commonly done between 15 and 22 weeks of gestation but can be performed at later gestational ages. The safety and genetic diagnostic accuracy of amniocentesis have been well-established through numerous large-scale multicenter studies for procedures before 24 weeks, but comprehensive data on late amniocentesis remain sparse.

Objective: To evaluate the indications, diagnostic yield, safety, and maternal and fetal outcomes associated with amniocentesis performed at or beyond 24 weeks of gestation.

The benefit of active management in true knot of the umbilical cord: a retrospective study.

Purpose: To compare perinatal outcomes between active and routine management in true knot of the umbilical cord (TKUC).

Methods: A retrospective study of singletons born beyond 22  weeks with TKUC. Active management included weekly fetal heart rate monitoring(FHRM) ≥ 30 weeks and labor induction at 36-37 weeks.

Late selective termination in dichorionic twins: comparing late second and third trimester procedures.
