Background: While drugs are sometimes taken during deliberate self-harm (DSH), no study has attempted to analyze drugs in the blood of DSH patients and compare them with prescribed medications or other drugs. In this study, drugs were analyzed from the blood of DSH patients, and the detected, prescribed, and suspected drugs were documented.

Methods: Patients who practiced DSH and were transferred to the emergency sites of Fukuoka University Hospital between April 2021 and September 2022 participated in the study.

Objectives:  Variability in cardiopulmonary arrest training and management leads to inconsistent outcomes during in-hospital cardiac arrest. Existing clinical decision aids, such as American Heart Association (AHA) advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) pocket cards and third-party mobile apps, often lack comprehensive management guidance. We developed a novel, guided ACLS mobile app and evaluated user performance during simulated cardiac arrest according to the 2020 AHA ACLS guidelines via randomized controlled trial.

Monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) catalyzes oxidative deamination of catecholamines. A functional variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) polymorphism in the promoter region of the MAOA gene has been previously reported. In the present study, we measured serum adrenaline (Adr), noradrenaline (Nad), and dopamine (DA) levels in 90 male and 34 female Japanese autopsy cases in which amphetamines or psychotropic drugs were not detected.

New functionality is added to the LAMMPS molecular simulation package, which increases the versatility with which LAMMPS can interface with supporting software and manipulate information associated with bonded force fields. We introduce the "type label" framework that allows atom types and their higher-order interactions (bonds, angles, dihedrals, and impropers) to be represented in terms of the standard atom type strings of a bonded force field. Type labels increase the human readability of input files, enable bonded force fields to be supported by the OpenKIM repository, simplify the creation of reaction templates for the REACTER protocol, and increase compatibility with external visualization tools, such as VMD and OVITO.
