Background/aim: Glioma, the most common type of primary brain tumor, is characterized by high malignancy, recurrence, and mortality. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 is a potential biomarker for glioma diagnosis and treatment due to its overexpression in human glioma tissues and its involvement in cell division and metastasis regulation. This study aimed to identify potential therapeutic targets involved in glioma development by analyzing gene expression profiles regulated by H19.

Introduction: Nusinersen clinical trials have limited data on adolescents and adults with 5q-associated spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis to assess effectiveness of nusinersen in adolescents and adults with SMA in clinical practice.

Methods: Our search included papers published 12/23/2016 through 07/01/2022 with ≥ 5 individuals ≥ 13 years of age and with ≥ 6 months' data on ≥ 1 selected motor function outcomes [Hammersmith Functional Motor Scale-Expanded (HFMSE), Revised Upper Limb Module (RULM), and Six-Minute Walk Test (6MWT)].

Advancements in electronic devices demand materials capable of exceptional performance in various challenging environments. This study presents polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nonwoven membranes with controlled porosity, created using an air-guided electrospinning method, followed by a calendaring process. These membranes exhibit a combination of water-repellent properties and sound transmission capabilities, making them ideal candidates for use in air and acoustic vents in electronic systems.
