[Practical experience in the transport of newborn infants at risk by means of a mobile intensive care unit (author's transl)].

The development of perinatology gives premature and other newborn infants at risk a better chance of survival. The transport of these infants from the delivery room to the neonatal intensive care centre is a complicated procedure and its inherent dangers for the newborn infant increase with distance. Success depends on special transport facilities and the mobile van equipment is described.
