Background: Elder abuse is a multidimensional problem of public importance. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 16% of older people were victims of elder abuse. A study conducted by HelpAge India in 2018 showed that Mangaluru ranks the highest in elder abuse (47%).

Evaluation of antimicrobial efficacy of immunoglobulin Y (IgY) against periodontal biofilm.

Background And Objectives: To determine the action of immunoglobulin Y (IgY) on supragingival microbiota and on subgingival microbiota in patients with gingivitis and periodontitis through microbial reduction assay.

Methodology: 40 systemically healthy patients were divided into two groups (gingivitis and periodontitis) with 20 patients per group. Supragingival and subgingival plaque samples were collected from each patient in Group I and Group II, respectively.

Atypical Cutaneous Lymphoid Hyperplasia of Nose: A Pathological Puzzle.

Atypical cutaneous lymphoid hyperplasia is a rare tumour of the head and neck which represents a lymphoproliferative continuum and mimics cutaneous lymphoma. Hereby reporting the case of a 40-year-old gentleman who presented with a swelling over dorsum of nose. On evaluation, Fine needle aspiration cytology was inconclusive with only inflammatory cells.

Femoral Artery Injuries in Closed Femur Shaft Fractures: Case Report.

 Two young male patients, sustained injury to the superficial femoral artery (SFA) following a closed femur shaft fracture. The arterial injuries were confirmed by computed tomography angiography and both underwent fracture fixation and on SFA exploration; a thrombosed arterial segment was noted at the fracture site, addressed with arteriotomy and thrombectomy to restore the vascularity. At 1-year follow-up, both patients had good union at the fracture site and a well-perfused limb.
