Moderated nonlinear factor analysis (MNLFA) has emerged as an important and flexible data analysis tool, particularly in integrative data analysis setting and psychometric studies of measurement invariance and differential item functioning. Substantive applications abound in the literature and span a broad range of disciplines. MNLFA unifies item response theory, multiple group, and multiple indicator multiple cause modeling traditions, and it extends these frameworks by conceptualizing latent variable heterogeneity as a source of differential item functioning.

While various methods can estimate rate constants for conformational transitions in molecular dynamics simulations, their applicability to studying chemical reactions remains uncertain due to the high and sharp energy barriers and complex reaction coordinates involved. This study focuses on the thermal cis-trans isomerization in retinal, employing molecular simulations and comparing rate constant estimates based on one-dimensional rate theories with those based on sampling transitions and grid-based models for low-dimensional collective variable spaces.

The COVID-19 pandemic provided a unique opportunity to study the effects of prolonged viral infections on the immune responses of CVID patients. Here we use single-cell RNA-seq and spectral flow cytometry of peripheral blood samples before, during, and after SARS-CoV-2 infection showing that COVID-19 CVID patients display a persistent type I interferon signature at convalescence across immune compartments.

We sought to assess antibiotic administration practices in a large population of patients who underwent operations involving enteric anastomoses and evaluate the incidence of postoperative infection and other outcomes based on antibiotic approach.
Methods: The Pediatric Health Information Systems database was queried for patients who underwent repair of esophageal, duodenal or jejuno-ileal atresia in 2021.
