Studies were carried out on echinococcosis in animals, making use of the results obtained with investigations carried out throughout this country. A great number of definitive and intermediate hosts were studied. A considerable drop of the percent of infected animals was recorded over the 1966-1984 period both with the definitive and the intermediate hosts.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFHistopathologic investigations in dynamic (from the 3rd up to the 15th month of infection) were carried out on echinococcus cysts and viscera (liver, lungs, spleen, and respective lymph nodes) of sheep with an experimental infection of Echinococcus granulosus. The echinococcus cysts differed in their development. Some of them showed normal structure, while others were in various stages of degeneration or full organization with calcification.
