The transportation sector is undergoing a technology shift from internal combustion engines to electric motors powered by secondary Li-based batteries. However, the limited range and long charging times of Li-ion batteries still hinder widespread adoption. This aspect is particularly true in the case of heavy freight and long-range transportation, where solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) offer an attractive alternative as they can provide high-efficiency and flexible fuel choices.

This paper presents the "outside" variant of the standard psoas hitch procedure. Two basic principles of the procedure are: lateralisation and fixation of the bladder at the psoas muscle; the long and straight reimplantation of the ureter on the posterior, lateral or anterolateral bladder wall using the extravesical approach. The main indications were the extensive changes of the ureter in case of neurogenic bladder dysfunction and the reduced bladder capacity with the changes of the mucous membrane.

An exact diagnosis of a congenital absence of the testis (monorchism) may be a problem from the clinical (preoperatively) as well as from the surgical (intraoperatively) point of view. Namely, there has not yet been generally accepted clinical and surgical criteria which could contribute to a doubtless verification of this, not so rare, anomaly in children. After an analysis of their numerous patients, the authors conclude that compensatory hypertrophy of only one intrascrotal testis has been proved as a clinical indicator of a monorchism.
