Pyrazoloquinolinones (PQs) are a versatile class of GABA receptor ligands. It has been demonstrated that high functional selectivity for certain receptor subtypes can be obtained by specific substitution patterns, but so far, no clear SAR rules emerge from the studies. As is the case for many GABA receptor targeting chemotypes, PQs can interact with distinct binding sites on a given receptor pentamer.

Article Synopsis
  • The omentum, a part of the body where ovarian cancer often spreads, has immune cell groups called milky spots, but their role in cancer metastasis is unclear.
  • Researchers discovered that omental macrophages (a type of immune cell) help ovarian cancer cells move and settle in the omentum by releasing specific chemokines that interact with CCR1 receptors.
  • Reducing or blocking the function of these macrophages and their signaling pathways significantly decreased the spread of ovarian cancer in the omentum, highlighting the importance of omental macrophages in cancer migration.

Introduction: Standardization of voice outcomes indicators (VOIs) is an important issue when it comes to evaluating and comparing surgical treatments for Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis (UVFP). In a recent review, 11 VOIs were found to represent 80% of the VOIs cited in the literature. A survey was launched among the European laryngologists to acquire surgeons' opinions on the above mentioned preselected VOIs.
