Purpose: Oxygen therapy is helpful for patients with breathing difficulties; however, sustained supplementation with high-concentration oxygen can cause hyperoxic acute lung injury. Sirtuin 2 (SIRT2), a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent deacetylase, has been shown to be involved in pulmonary fibrosis, apoptosis, and inflammation. Here, we elucidated the role of SIRT2 in hyperoxic acute lung injury.

Purpose: This study analyzed the pathological complete response (pCR) rates, long-term outcomes, and biological features of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-zero, HER2-low, and HER2-positive breast cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant treatment.

Methods: This single-center study included 1,667 patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy from 2008 to 2014. Patients were categorized by HER2 status, and their clinicopathological characteristics, chemotherapy responses, and recurrence-free survival (RFS) rates were analyzed.

Purpose: Although HER2 positivity is prevalent in microinvasive breast cancer (MIBC), data focused on HER2-positive MIBC are limited. We investigated the clinical course and long-term outcomes of HER2-positive MIBC and evaluated the role of adjuvant chemotherapy.

Materials And Methods: The study included patients with curatively resected pT1mi pN0 HER2-positive breast cancer between January 2000 and January 2020.

Background: The cosmetic outcomes of breast-conserving surgery (BCS) have recently gained increasing attention, and surgeons are exploring the use of the acellular dermal matrix (ADM) as a safe and effective method of breast reconstruction. This study evaluated the clinical progress of patients with breast cancer following the application of sheet-type ADM for breast reconstruction after BCS.

Methods: This retrospective study included 137 patients who underwent BCS using ADM at a single center between October 2019 and October 2021.

The gut-skin axis has emerged as a crucial mediator of skin diseases, with mounting evidence highlighting the influence of gut microbiota on skin health. However, investigating these mechanisms has been hindered by the lack of experimental systems that enable direct study of gut microbiota-skin interactions. Here, we present the gut microbe-skin chip (GMS chip), a novel microfluidic platform designed to model microbiome-gut-skin axis interactions.
