REM obstructive sleep apnea: prevalence and clinical associations in a high-altitude population.

Study Objectives: REM-associated OSA (REM OSA) has a prevalence of 17-74% of all OSA cases. At high altitude and in Latin America, there are no data on REM OSA and its relationship to daytime sleepiness and comorbidities. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of REM OSA and the differences in clinical and polysomnographic characteristics between OSA and REM OSA in a population living at 2640 m.

A Rare Self-Inflicted Stabbing to the Neck Injuring the Distal Trachea and Proximal Esophagus.

Penetrating neck trauma poses a significant risk to multiple vital structures, which if not treated immediately may lead to devastating consequences. Our patient presented after sustaining self-inflicted stab wounds to the neck. He was taken to the operating room for a left neck exploration and median sternotomy, revealing a distal tracheal injury.

Laparoscopic Paraesophageal Hernia Repair With Nissen Fundoplication in a Patient With Ancient Schwannoma of the Gastroesophageal Junction.

Schwannomas are mostly benign tumors that originate from Schwann cells and are rarely seen in the gastrointestinal tract. Our patient is a 65-year-old female who was found to have a 1.5 cm lesion at the gastroesophageal junction, which was clipped and excised on endoscopy.

Effect of APPT Treatment on Mechanical Properties and Durability of Green Composites with Woven Flax.

Through this study, two different natural fibres green composites were characterised from the point of view of mechanical properties and durability. These green polymers allow manufacturing with a respectful life cycle due to their biodegradable or recyclable character. Composite materials were prepared in a hot plates press with two biopolymeric matrices, green low density polyethylene (GPE) and polybutylene succinate (PBS).
