The density functional theory (DFT) and experimental data presented in this paper refer to the research article "Computational and experimental study on undoped and Er-doped lithium tantalate nano fluorescent probes". The DFT data contain electronic and optical properties for both LiTaO and LiTaO:Er, with Er occupying either Li or Ta sites at 4.167 mol.

Ultrasound (US) plays a primary role in the assessment and diagnosis of renal and ureteral pathologies and their management. It is considered the first-line imaging modality for evaluation of urinary obstruction, nephrolithiasis, and urinary retention among other indications. US is also essential for evaluation of renal vasculature and assessment of renal transplantation.

Article Synopsis
  • Intravenous contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) enhances ultrasound imaging with microbubble contrast agents for better visualization of blood vessels and organ perfusion.
  • CEUS is recognized as an effective tool in specific situations and is preferred over traditional B-mode and Doppler imaging.
  • The article explores both approved and off-label uses of CEUS for children and adults, including FDA-approved contrast agents, their side effects, and current advancements in the technology.

This study used real-world data from three separate United States (US) databases to evaluate dosing patterns and time to next treatment (TTNT) following the first-incident adverse event (AE) in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) treated with first-line ibrutinib with and without dose reduction (DR). Median TTNT or death in patients with and without a DR following an AE in each database was as follows: Optum Clinformatics Data Mart (CDM): 59.5 and 30.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to evaluate and compare the antifungal effectiveness of various solutions (3% sodium hypochlorite, 2% chlorhexidine gluconate, ozonated water, and alum water) against specific fungal strains.
  • - Salivary samples from 35 patients were cultured, and the efficacy of each solution was tested using the agar well diffusion method, measuring the diameter of the inhibition zones created by each solution.
  • - Results showed that 3% sodium hypochlorite had the largest inhibitory effect against the fungi, followed by 2% chlorhexidine, while ozonated water had the smallest inhibitory zone.
