Background: As of April 30, 2020, a total of 2,039 cases of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were confirmed in the Republic of Uzbekistan after the first detection on March 15. Reports on symptoms of COVID-19 are non-specific and known to vary from asymptomatic, mild to severe, or fatal. This study aimed to analyze the symptomatic and clinical characteristics of study participants based on the medical records of participants hospitalized with COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe data obtained in a retrospective analysis, angiographic and hepatoscintigraphic examinations of 86 patients (aged from 12 to 64 years) with liver cirrhosis (LC) treated during the period from 1998 through 2003 were analyzed. Among them there were 64 men and 22 women. The investigations performed have shown that the angiographic data obtained in LC patients determine not only the topographic interaction of the major and collateral vessels of the porto-lienal pool that is of principal significance in the decision for the method of surgical correction in portal hypertension but also allow an estimation of the picture of the hepatopetal blood flow inversion.

The data on the effective use of the new sorbent KAY and the carbon sorbent "Volna" in the treatment of acute generalized peritonitis were compared. Endosorption with sorbent KAY was conducted on an experimental model of generalized peritonitis. It produced a favorable effect on the functional morphology of the peritoneum by leveling many morphological signs of general intoxication of the organism and in this way creating the conditions for a favorable outcome of the postoperative period.

The use of compressive tests permitted accurate diagnosis of the routes of blood overflow to the affected segment of the arterial basin of the brain. It was established that the main route of blood inflow in patients with non-specific aortoarteritis was the system of intracranial anastomoses; extracranial blood supply of the brain was noted in occlusion of the internal carotid artery.
