Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a major problem worldwide that affects the quality of life, well-being of patients and their families. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the cost of illness and quality of life among patients with T1DM. A concurrent, parallel, mixed-method study of 113 adolescents with T1DM registered in public and private hospitals in the Mysore district was conducted by obtaining data related to the cost of illness and quality of life using a validated Diabetes-Specific Quality of Life (DSQoL) questionnaire.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic which is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has created a major global health crisis in recent years. Ischemic stroke following snake bite is rare. We report a posterior circulation infarct involving bilateral cerebellum and occipital lobe following Russell's viper bite in a previously healthy individual. A 50 years old healthy individual, soon after being bitten by the Russel viper on the left foot he developed pain and swelling followed by drooping of eyelids, slurring of speech and giddiness with multiple episodes of vomiting.
