To suppress Thyroid pathologic activity in diffuse toxic goitre the authors have for the first time resorted to roentgenoendovascular functional thyroiedctomy. This method consists in vascular isolation of the thyroid by superselective catheterization of the left and right thyroid arteries followed by their material occlusion. For embolization a wide spectrum of nonlyzed synthetic, organic, and inorganic materials were used.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFExpression of total T- and B-population, T-subpopulation lymphocyte receptors and secretion of IgM, IgG and IgA were measured in 112 patients with diffuse purulent peritonitis and 81 healthy donors. Expression of receptors was correlated with the disease severity identified by leukocytic index of intoxication (LII). The latter appeared to accurately reflect the pattern of immunological impairment.

Clinical observations embrace 77 cases of chronic pancreatitis combined with various pathologic changes of the choledochal terminal portion. The surgical correction of these changes was carried out upon 73 cases. The follow-up lasting from 2 to 6 years has shown the manifestation of chronic pancreatitis either disappear or subside dramatically in the most cases following the surgical correction of the pathologic changes in the choledochal terminal portion.
