While volitional movement is thought to be initiated based on its anticipated capacity to achieve sensory goals, stimulus-driven movement may be generated with less regard for its specific effects. Sensorimotor processes that make use of action-effect predictions may therefore differ between these forms of movement, including sensory attenuation and the detection of mispredicted motor effects. In this study, we explored sensory attenuation by comparing the evoked response of externally-generated tones with those produced by participants (n = 61), both according to their own timing (i.

Background: People with hand osteoarthritis (OA) often have poor access to recommended treatments. To enhance care quality, quality indicators (QIs) based on clinical recommendations are essential. Current QI sets, like the Osteoarthritis Quality Indicator Questionnaire (OA-QI v.

Cancer cells are often aneuploid and frequently display elevated rates of chromosome mis-segregation, called chromosomal instability (CIN). CIN is caused by hyperstable kinetochore-microtubule (K-MT) attachments that reduce the correction efficiency of erroneous K-MT attachments. UMK57, a chemical agonist of the protein MCAK (mitotic centromere-associated kinesin), improves chromosome segregation fidelity in CIN cancer cells by destabilizing K-MT attachments, but cells rapidly develop resistance.

Purpose: During pregnancy, extracellular vesicle and particle microRNAs (EVP miRNA) in maternal circulation have the capacity to cross the placenta and facilitate maternal-fetal communication. Both dysregulation of circulating EVP miRNA during pregnancy and maternal diet quality have been previously associated with pregnancy complications and adverse birth outcomes. However, little is known about how maternal diet influences circulating EVP miRNA during pregnancy.

Menstrual effluent cell profiles have potential as noninvasive biomarkers of female reproductive and gynecological health and disease. We used DNA methylation-based cell type deconvolution (methylation cytometry) to identify cell type profiles in self-collected menstrual effluent. During the second day of their menstrual cycle, healthy participants collected menstrual effluent using a vaginal swab, menstrual cup, and pad.
