[Cervix adenocarcinoma in a virgin patient with negative human papillomavirus].

Cervical cancer in virgin women is extremely rare. We present the case of a 36-year-old patient without any type of sexual contact with sensa- tion of lump in external genitalia referring only irregular bleeding in the previous two months, finding in vaginal examination an indurated mass in vaginal introitus with result in the biopsy of adenosquamous adenocarcinoma. The evolution of the tumor was very aggressive in spite of trying palliative chemotherapy, and patient died two months after of diagnosis with lung, liver and brain metastases.

[Positive result of human chorionic gonadotropin. Diagnostic considerations].

Positive serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-HCG) in reproductive-age women generally indicates a pregnancy in healthy women. Nevertheless, this result can also be associated to other different etiologies that every gynecologist must know. A case report of a 41-year-old woman who had an elevated beta-HCG serum level without pregnancy is presented, which turned out to be the first sign of lung cancer.

[Pseudoaneurysm of the uterine artery after cesarean delivery].

Uterine artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare but serious complication of pelvic surgery (although there are some cases reported following normal delivery), which can manifest as a severe bleeding in the postoperative period. Doppler ultrasound has an important role in the differential diagnosis of the causes of postpartum hemorrhage, and should guide us to this rare complication that can benefit from treatment by uterine artery angiographic embolization. Pseudoaneurysm is typically diagnosed by symptoms associated with the rupture, causing hemorrhage.

[Twin pregnancy in a bicornuate uterus].

Abnormal fusion of the mullerian ducts causes variyng degrees of congenital uterine anomalies, associated with reproductive problems. Twin gestation in a case of bicornuate uterus is extremely rare and with a poor reproductive performance. We are reporting this case because there are only a few cases, less than 20, in previous reports.
