Studies suggest that dogs exhibit prosocial behaviors toward humans and can rescue their guardians trapped in a box. We investigated whether dogs could communicate with an experimenter to gain access to a crying actor (the crying condition) who was visible but inaccessible, as she remained behind a fence throughout the test, or when she was simply speaking (the neutral condition). This experimenter was positioned to allow access to the actor, and the dog was free to move within the environment.

In the present study, we evaluate how the contributions of different taxa to beta diversity, through local and species effects, can indicate the priority sites for conservation and ecological restoration in an Amazon region impacted by bauxite mining. We also investigate how environmental conditions at local and landscape scales influence the beta diversity of the aquatic biota.

Heparin pretreatment in ST segment elevation myocardial infarction: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Unfractionated heparin (UFH) is frequently administered before percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Current guidelines, however, do not provide clear recommendations for UFH pretreatment before arrival at the coronary catheterization laboratory.

Methods: Between June and July 2023, we systematically searched PubMed , Embase , and Cochrane databases for studies comparing UFH pretreatments in patients with STEMI.
