Smartwatch wearables are a promising health information technology to monitor older adults with complex chronic care needs. Pilot and feasibility studies have assessed smartwatch use with community-dwelling older adults, but less is known about their use in nursing homes. The purpose of this study was to test the feasibility and acceptability of smartwatch technology in a real-world nursing home setting to generate initial evidence about potential use.

A Catalyst to Better Searching: Tackling Health Inequities with a Novel Interactive eResource.

This paper describes a web-based resource that aims to improve health disparities research by providing guidance and tools for searching and evaluating information on vulnerable populations. The resource integrates electronic books on equity, diversity, and inclusion with interactive tutorials and modules teaching users to formulate research questions, select appropriate search terms, and appraise their searches. The resource also addresses the issue of biased and outdated searching terminology and offers alternative strategies for finding literature.

Dashboards display hospital quality and patient safety measures aimed to improve patient outcomes. Although literature establishes dashboards aid quality and performance improvement initiatives, research is limited from the frontline nurse manager's perspective. This study characterizes factors influencing hospital nurse managers' use of dashboards for unit-level quality and performance improvement with suggestions for dashboard design.

This enhanced the ability of the physiological antioxidant ascorbate to reduce ferryl heme and decrease lipid peroxidation.
