Fabrication of sandwich structures of Ag/analyte/MoOsea urchins for SERS detection of methylene blue dye molecules.

A substrate for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) in a sandwich configuration, noble metal/analyte/defect-rich metal oxide, is demonstrated for the detection of methylene blue(MB). The sandwich structure (Ag/MB/SUMoO) is fabricated by physical vapour deposition of Ag nanoparticles over the MB analytes that are adsorbed on sea urchin MoO(SUMoO). SUMoOare grown on a glass substrate by chemical bath deposition.

Designing siRNA/chitosan-methacrylate complex nanolipogel for prolonged gene silencing effects.

Despite immense revolutionary therapeutics potential, sustaining release of active small interfering RNA (siRNA) remains an arduous challenge. The development of nanoparticles with siRNA sustained release capabilities provides an avenue to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of gene-based therapy. Herein, we present a new system based on the encapsulation of siRNA/chitosan-methacrylate (CMA) complexes into liposomes to form UV crosslinkable Nanolipogels (NLGs) with sustained siRNA-release properties in vitro.

Clinical profile and risk factors for mortality among COVID-19 inpatients at a tertiary care centre in Bengaluru, India.

COVID-19 is an emerging viral disease affecting more than 200 countries worldwide and it present with varied clinical profile throughout the world. Without effective drugs to cure COVID-19, early identification and control of risk factors are important measures to combat COVID-19.  This study was conducted to determine the clinical profile and risk factors associated with mortality among COVID-19 patients in a tertiary care hospital in South India.
