Feline lung-digit syndrome: A differential diagnosis for shifting, waxing and waning lameness in a cat.

The clinical presentation, cytologic findings, radiographic findings, and postmortem assessment of a cat with primary pulmonary adenocarcinoma with multiple digital metastasis are described. An unusual shifting, waxing and waning pattern of lameness, suspected to be an early manifestation of digital metastasis before any gross lesions were visible, was documented. Initial cytologic finding of a lung nodule was equivocal for diagnosis of neoplasia despite being strongly suspicious.

The relationship between working memory capacity, bilingualism, and ambiguous relative clause attachment.

Working memory (WM) capacity has been shown to influence how readers resolve syntactic ambiguities. Building on the work of Swets et al. (2007, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, 136[1], 64-81), the goal of the present study was to assess the effects of working memory and language proficiency on first language (L1) relative clause attachment decisions across three different language samples: English monolinguals, L1-L2 Spanish-English heritage bilinguals, and L1-L2 Mandarin-English bilinguals.

Role of Quantitation of Saline Bubble Studies in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis.

Objective: Microbubble contrast echocardiography with a late positive signal enables the detection of intrapulmonary vascular dilation, including hepatopulmonary syndrome, in patients with end-stage liver disease. We assessed the relationship between the severity of bubble study and clinical outcome.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 163 consecutive patients with liver cirrhosis who underwent an echocardiogram with bubble study from 2018 to 2021.

National work-family policies and the occupational segregation of women and mothers in European countries, 1999-2016.

Some scholars hypothesize that although work-family policies help incorporate women into the labour market, they do so by integrating women, and mothers specifically, into female-dominated occupations. Some suggest that although these policies are 'good' for lower educated women, they harm higher educated women by concentrating them in female-dominated professions. We revisit this debate using the highest quality data brought to bear on this question to date.

Established and emerging roles for ultrasound enhancing agents (contrast echocardiography).

The ability to opacify the left ventricle and delineate the endocardium after intravenous injection of microbubble ultrasound enhancing agents is of established value to quantify volumes and function in suboptimal unenhanced images, particularly in stress echocardiograms. However, applications other than quantitation of left ventricle structure and function exist for contrast enhanced left ventricular opacification. Contrast agents enable recording of Doppler velocity signals in patients with poor ultrasound transmission, providing estimates of aortic stenosis gradient and pulmonary artery pressures.
