Background: Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is a thermophilic crop, and exposure to cold stress can significantly impact their yield and quality. To elucidate the impact of cold stress on cold-tolerant 'Wei Yuan' (WY) and cold-sensitive 'Bai Bu Lao' (BBL) of common bean, the mechanism of cold tolerance was studied by physiological and biochemical and multi-omics analysis.

Methods: Patients suffering from chronic insomnia at high altitude were randomly assigned at a 1:1 ratio to either the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment group or the control group for a 10-day procedure. The primary outcome was insomnia status, which was assessed via the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI).

Survival of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) is crucial for successful bone marrow transplantation. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain inadequately understood. Our previous research has demonstrated that dl-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP) can protect rat BMSCs from cell death via its antioxidative properties and by activating the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) pathway.

Companion animals as sources of hazardous critically important antimicrobial-resistant Escherichia coli: Genomic surveillance in Shanghai.

This study provides the first comprehensive genomic surveillance of critically important antimicrobial (CIA)-resistant Escherichia coli in companion animals, addressing gaps in the understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) transmission dynamics and the environmental dissemination of hazardous resistance genes within urban ecosystems. A total of 244 CIA-resistant Escherichia coli (CIA-EC) isolates were obtained from 730 anal swabs collected across 11 pet hospitals in Shanghai. High-risk zoonotic clones, such as ST410 and ST405, were identified across multiple districts, with bla-positive IncX3 plasmids demonstrating exceptional stability, efficient conjugation, and broad host adaptability.

The present study aimed to explore the effects of zinc finger with KRAB and SCAN domains 3 (ZKSCAN3)/transcription factor EB (TFEB) on autophagy-lysosome pathway in Parkinson's disease (PD). SH-SY5Y cells were treated with 6-hydroxydopamine to establish a PD cell model. A ZKSCAN3 overexpression vector and short interfering (si)RNAs were also constructed.
