This paper investigates the flexural behavior of preloaded reinforced concrete (RC) beams, strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) plates using an experimental program, analytical procedure, and Finite Element Method (FEM) simulation. The RC beams were subjected to preloads of 30%, 50% and 70% of the yielding load, prior to installation of the strengthening system. The eight RC-strengthened beams with a reinforcement configuration of 3Ø12 and two CarboDur S512 plates have been evaluated using bending tests.

CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) strips are currently often used to strengthen reinforced concrete structures in flexure. In order to ensure effective strengthening, proper connection between FRP material and concrete structure is needed. CFRP strips can be applied passively (only by bonding to the concrete surface) or actively (by prestressing before bonding).

Unlabelled: The aim of the study was to determine whether patients treated with anticoagulants in the perioperative period are at higher risk of developing bleeding complications.

Material And Methods: Medical records of patients operated for abdominal hernia were analysed. Data concerning demographic characteristic of a group, type of hernia, comorbidities, preoperative anticoagulation therapy and complications were collected.

The synthesis as well as isolation and crystallographic analysis of two solid-state polymorphs of the tripodal ligand tri[2,2',2' '-tris[(2,4,8,10-tetrakis(1,1-dimethylethyl)dibenzo[d,f][1,3,2]dioxaphosphepin-6-yl)oxy]ethyl]amine (3) is described. Form I crystallized from ethyl acetate in the space group P2(1)/n with the unit-cell parameters a = 20.070(10) A, b = 17.
