In this article we aimed synthesize all available evidence regarding the effects of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques combined with mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) on mental health indicators. We performed a systematic review of randomized controlled trials evaluating NIBS/MBIs combinations in clinical populations and a random effects pairwise meta-analysis of studies evaluating anxiety and depression symptoms. After independent trial selection by two authors based on titles/abstracts, and then on full texts, twelve trials were retrieved.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the radiochemical oxygen depletion (ROD) in vivo by directly measuring oxygen levels in various mouse tissues during ultra-high dose rate (UHDR) irradiation at clinically relevant doses and dose rates.
Materials And Methods: Mice bearing subcutaneous human glioblastoma (U-87 MG) tumors were used for tumor and normal tissue (skin, muscle, brain) measurements. An oxygen-sensitive phosphorescent probe (Oxyphor PtG4) was injected into the tissues, and oxygen levels were monitored using a fiberoptic phosphorometer during UHDR irradiation with a 6 MeV electron linear accelerator (LINAC).

Background And Purpose: Ultra-high dose-rate radiotherapy (FLASH) has been shown to mitigate normal tissue toxicities associated with conventional dose rate radiotherapy (CONV) without compromising tumor killing in preclinical models. A prominent challenge in preclinical radiation research, including FLASH, is validating both the physical dosimetry and the biological effects across multiple institutions.
Materials And Methods: We previously demonstrated dosimetric reproducibility of two different electron FLASH devices at separate institutions using standardized phantoms and dosimeters.
In an extensive screening endeavor for anti-coronaviral compounds, we examined 824 tropical plant extracts from the Annonaceae and Rutaceae families. The screening identified an ethyl acetate extract from the aerial parts of Miliusa balansae for its potent inhibitory activity against Human coronavirus HCoV-229E. Subsequent bioassay-guided fractionation of this extract revealed two unreported miliusanes including a complex dimeric structure and seven known compounds, comprising miliusane XXXVI, (+)-miliusol, bistyryls, styryl-pyranones, and the flavonoid rhamnetin.
