Interest in bacteriophages (phages) as sustainable biocontrol agents in the agri-food industry has increased because of growing worries about food safety and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The phage manufacturing process is examined in this review, with particular attention paid to the crucial upstream and downstream processes needed for large-scale production. Achieving large phage yields requires upstream procedures, including fermentation and phage amplification.

Lake Urmia is one of the world's most unique and hypersaline aquatic ecosystems. The aim of this study was to investigate the diversity, abundance and frequency of these microorganisms in water samples from the eastern regions of the lake over four seasons. Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-associated (CAS) genes make up bacteria's adaptive immune system against bacteriophages. In this study, 675 sequences of isolates deposited in GenBank were analyzed in terms of diversity, occurrence, and evolution of the CRISPR-Cas system. This study investigated the presence, structural variations, phylogenetic relationships, and diversity of CRISPR-Cas systems in 675 strains.
