Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a disease of lymphocyte origin predominantly diagnosed in children. While its 5-year survival rate is high, resistance to chemotherapy drugs is still an obstacle. Our aim is to determine differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to Asparaginase, Daunorubicin, Prednisolone, and Vincristine resistance and identify potential inhibitors via docking.

We have developed a prototype cartridge-based surveillance assay (CaurisSurV cartridge; "research use only") that includes integrated sample processing and nucleic acid amplification to detect from surveillance skin swabs in the GeneXpert instrument and is designed for point-of-care use.

Flood disasters resulting from excessive water in stream beds inflict extensive damage. Floods are caused by the expansion of cities, the erosion of riverbeds, inadequate infrastructure, and increasing precipitation due to climate change. Floods cause great damage to agricultural areas and settlements.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) is a pivotal enzyme involved in one-carbon metabolism, which is critical for the proliferation of cancer cells. In line with this, published literature showed that MTHFR knockdown caused impaired growth of multiple types of cancer cells. Moreover, higher MTHFR expression levels were linked to shorter overall survival in hepatocellular carcinoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and low-grade glioma, bringing the need to design MTHFR inhibitors as a possible treatment option.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIsothermal DNA amplification reactions are used in a broad variety of applications, from diagnostic assays to DNA circuits, with greater speed and less complexity than established PCR technologies. We recently reported a unique, high gain, biphasic isothermal DNA amplification reaction, called the Ultrasensitive DNA Amplification Reaction (UDAR). Here we present a detailed analysis of the UDAR reaction pathways that initiates with a first phase followed by a nonlinear product burst, which is caused by an autocatalytic secondary reaction.
