The magnetic structure of chromium arsenide CrAs is studied with neutron powder diffraction at ambient pressure in the temperature range 1.5-300 K as well as with neutron single-crystal diffraction at 2 K and 0.12 GPa.

Powder neutron diffraction brought information on both temperature evolution of crystallographic parameters and magnetic order at low temperatures. No structural change was observed in the investigated temperature range from 1.

The calculation takes into account the orientation distribution refined from neutron diffraction data and literature values for the single crystal resistivity tensor. The example discussed here is a melt-cast processed Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂O (Bi-2212) polycrystalline tube in which the main texture component is a <010> fiber texture with relatively low texture strength.

We present evidence for a field-induced quantum phase transition, in superconducting NdCeCoIn, that separates two antiferromagnetic phases with identical magnetic symmetry. At zero field, we find a spin-density wave that is suppressed at the critical field μ* = 8 T.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLow-temperature neutron diffraction and NMR studies of field-induced phases in linarite are presented for magnetic fields H∥b axis. A two-step spin-flop transition is observed, as well as a transition transforming a helical magnetic ground state into an unusual magnetic phase with sine-wave-modulated moments ∥H. An effective J[over ˜]_{1}-J[over ˜]_{2} single-chain model with a magnetization-dependent frustration ratio α_{eff}=-J[over ˜]_{2}/J[over ˜]_{1} is proposed.
