Speed and Shape of Population Fronts with Density-Dependent Diffusion.

There is growing empirical evidence that animal movement patterns depend on population density. We investigate travelling wave solutions in reaction-diffusion models of animal range expansion in the case that population diffusion is density-dependent. We find that the speed of the selected wave depends critically on the strength of diffusion at low density.

BioSense: An automated sensing node for organismal and environmental biology.

Automated remote sensing has revolutionized the fields of wildlife ecology and environmental science. Yet, a cost-effective and flexible approach for large scale monitoring has not been fully developed, resulting in a limited collection of high-resolution data. Here, we describe BioSense, a low-cost and fully programmable automated sensing platform for applications in bioacoustics and environmental studies.

Isotropy of Cosmic Rays beyond 10^{20} eV Favors Their Heavy Mass Composition.

We report an estimation of the injected mass composition of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) at energies higher than 10 EeV. The composition is inferred from an energy-dependent sky distribution of UHECR events observed by the Telescope Array surface detector by comparing it to the Large Scale Structure of the local Universe. In the case of negligible extragalactic magnetic fields (EGMFs), the results are consistent with a relatively heavy injected composition at E∼10  EeV that becomes lighter up to E∼100  EeV, while the composition at E>100  EeV is very heavy.

Implementation support for the data-driven components of care in a multisite network of coordinated specialty care programs.

Beyond training providers prior to the roll-out of coordinated specialty care (CSC) for first-episode psychosis in clinical settings, implementation support for data-informed care remains an area that has received very little attention. The current paper describes the development and refinement of implementation support for the data-driven components of care in the New Journeys network, Washington State's CSC model for psychosis, comprised of 14 CSC programs. Using the Evidence-Based System for Innovation Support Logic Model, this paper outlines the individual components for implementation support, tools, training, technical assistance, and quality improvement/evaluation that have been developed for the New Journeys network.

Exploring service provider perspectives on service user engagement across service components in coordinated specialty care programs for psychosis.

Engagement in services is a core element to successful outcomes for service users and programs. In coordinated specialty care (CSC) programs, designed for individuals experiencing first-episode psychosis, engagement has only been measured programmatically and not by service component. This qualitative study sought to explore provider perspectives on service user engagement in service components of CSC.
