Common hepatic artery aneurysm detected by 18F-FDG PET/CT Imaging.

Hepatic artery aneurysm (HAA) is a rare, yet clinically important, condition. While the causes of HAA are poorly understood, it is estimated that mortality following spontaneous rupture is as high as 40%. We discuss the case of a 77-year-old man who presented to our hospital due to a 10 mm pulmonary lesion in the left lower lung lobe, which was identified by a computed tomography scan of the lung at another institution.

The Use of Non-Nutritive and Low-Calorie Sweeteners in 19,915 Local and Imported Pre-Packaged Foods in Hong Kong.

This study aims to examine the use of non-nutritive (NNSs) and low-calorie sweeteners (LCSs) in pre-packaged foods in Hong Kong and the differences in the number of NNSs/LCSs used between products from different regions. In a cross-sectional audit, the types of NNSs/LCSs used in 19,915 pre-packaged foods in Hong Kong were examined by searching the ingredients list of the included products for keywords related to 20 common NNSs/LCSs and their respective E-numbers. Prevalence of use of NNSs and LCSs, the co-presence of NNSs/LCSs and free sugar ingredients (FSI), and the number of NNSs/LCSs used in the included foods were computed.

Food and beverage advertising in Hong Kong mass transit railway stations.

Objectives: To examine the extent and characteristics of food and beverage (F&B) promotion in Hong Kong mass transit railway (MTR) stations in districts with different socioeconomic statuses (SES) and school density.

Design: All advertisements located in the eight selected MTR stations were recorded by photographs or videos, and classified into F&B and non-F&B. The percentage of F&B advertisements and unhealthy F&B being promoted, and common persuasive marketing strategies used in F&B advertisements were compared between low v.

Increased Frequency of Genes in Patients with Epigastric Pain Syndrome.

Atypical clinical forms of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) can be misdiagnosed as therapy-resistant epigastric pain syndrome (EPS) for they share many of the same clinical features, such as abdominal pain. Thus, we aimed to determined the frequency of FMF in patients who were followed with a diagnosis of therapy-resistant EPS. Seventy-five patients with therapy-resistant EPS and 20 controls were involved in the study.

Effect of Light Absorption in InGaN/GaN Vertical Light-Emitting Diodes.

For evaluating the effect of light absorption in vertically structured thin film light-emitting diodes (VLEDs), we investigate the dependence of the efficiencies on the several specific parameters including thickness and doping concentration (N(D)) of the n-GaN layer, a design of hetero-structures of the n-GaN layer, and a number of pairs of multi-quantum wells (MQWs). Generally, there is a complementary relation between internal quantum efficiency (IQE) and light extraction efficiency (LEE). However, we confirmed that LEE determined by light absorption is more dominant than IQE in VLED structures with a textured surface, from numerical simulation and experimental results.
