[Immunological indicators in chemical industry workers].

High level of sensibilization with chemical, pollen and other allergens and changes in immune status of significant part of the chemical industry workers in Stavropol Territory were noted. These changes were in a direct connection with the nature of chemicals.

[Use of solid-phase immunoenzyme analysis for determining allergen-specific IgE antibodies].

An ELISA system for the detection of allergen-specific IgE antibodies to ragweed allergen has been developed. The system is highly sensitive and specific. Ragweed pollen allergen has been obtained by the dialysis of water-soluble extract through a kidney membrane.

[Immunochemical characteristics of plant pollen allergoid].

Allergen from ragweed pollen was treated with formaldehyde to obtain allergoid. The preparation obtained loses to a significant extent its ability to react not only with allergic antibodies (reagins) of the patients but also with precipitins of sera from rabbits hyperimmunized with allergen. Immunoelectrophoresis in agarose allowed a conclusion that formaldehyde blocks up to 4--5 antigens possessing a higher positive electrophoretic charge.
