Non-Targeted Authentication Approach for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The aim of this study is to develop a non-targeted approach for the authentication of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) using vibrational spectroscopy signatures combined with pattern recognition analysis. Olive oil samples ( = 151) were grouped as EVOO, virgin olive oil (VOO)/olive oil (OO), and EVOO adulterated with vegetable oils. Spectral data was collected using a compact benchtop Raman (1064 nm) and a portable ATR-IR (5-reflections) units.

The association between vascular access type and depressive symptoms in geriatric hemodialysis population.

Objectives: A well-functioning vascular access is crucial for hemodialysis treatment, and arteriovenous fistula is the recommended vascular access type. Arteriovenous fistula is superior to other vascular access types in many aspects, but the effect of arteriovenous fistula on patients' psychiatric state is not well described yet. The aim of this study is to determine whether there is an association between vascular access type and depression scores.

A rare solitary fibrous tumour of the ascending mesocolon: a case report.

Solitary fibrous tumours are rare mesenchymal tumours which mostly arise from pleura. Such tumours occurring in the mesocolon are exceptionally rare. A 35-year-old man was referred to the general surgery department with a painless and nonpalpable mass in the right quadrant of the abdomen, which was detected incidentally on magnetic resonance imaging.
