Purpose: Onco-hematological (OH) patients face significant cardiovascular risks due to malignancy and drug toxicity. Data are limited on the characteristics and outcomes of OH patients with cardiogenic shock (CS) in intensive care units (ICUs).
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included 214 OH patients with CS across 22 ICUs (2010-2021).
Background: Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) may be worsened by early systemic insults. We aimed to investigate the association of early systemic insults with outcomes of critically ill patients with severe SAE.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis using data from the French OUTCOMEREA prospective multicenter database.
Background: The effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) on wound healing have been demonstrated mainly in diabetic foot ulcer.
Objectives: To study the efficacy and safety of HBOT in chronic painful wounds, excluding diabetic foot ulcers.
Methods: From 2008 to 2021, patients with chronic wounds showing no clinical improvement for more than 1 month, who were in pain despite the use of level 2 or 3 analgesics, and who had undergone HBOT sessions, were included in a monocentric retrospective study.
Background: We assessed the effect of noninvasive ventilation (NIV) on mortality and length of stay after high flow nasal oxygenation (HFNO) failure among patients with severe hypoxemic COVID-19 pneumonia.
Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective study, we enrolled COVID-19 patients admitted in intensive care unit (ICU) for severe COVID-19 pneumonia with a HFNO failure from December 2020 to January 2022. The primary outcome was to compare the 90-day mortality between patients who required a straight intubation after HFNO failure and patients who received NIV after HFNO failure.
