Background: DNA damage tolerance (DDT) enables replication to continue in the presence of fork stalling lesions. In mammalian cells, DDT is regulated by two independent pathways, controlled by the polymerase REV1 and ubiquitinated PCNA, respectively.
Results: To determine the molecular and genomic impact of a global DDT defect, we studied Pcna;Rev1 compound mutants in mouse cells.

(Lp) is an opportunistic drinking water pathogen that can cause infections through the inhalation of Lp-containing aerosols and can occur in premise plumbing systems. In this work, the use of copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) ions was evaluated at the bench and pilot scale to determine (i) the effective independent concentrations of copper and silver that are efficacious in inactivating Lp, (ii) the impact of various water quality parameters on the efficaciousness of copper and silver ions, and (iii) the effectiveness and practicality of using dissociation to produce ions at the pilot scale. At the bench scale, it was determined that 0.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether adults with unilateral hearing loss (UHL) have an underlying vestibular dysfunction and whether vestibular testing explains balance function and fall risk.
Study Design: Cross-sectional.
Vanadium dioxide (VO) and its unique phase transition from semiconductor to metal near room temperature ( = 68 °C) offer significant potential for applications in smart materials and advanced technologies. This transition is accompanied by a drastic modulation of VO's optical properties in the near- and far-infrared regions. Tungsten (W) has been successfully used as a dopant to lower the transition to room temperature.

This Phase I, open-label, fixed-sequence study evaluated the effects of itraconazole (a strong cytochrome P450 3A4 [CYP3A4] and P-glycoprotein [P-gp] inhibitor) on the pharmacokinetics of intranasal/oral zavegepant and the effects of rifampin (a strong inducer of CYP3A4 and P-gp; and an inhibitor of organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B3 [OATP1B3]) on oral zavegepant in healthy participants. In the intranasal/oral zavegepant-itraconazole cohort, participants received a single 10-mg dose of zavegepant nasal spray on Day 1, followed by oral zavegepant (50 mg) on Day 3.
