With the introduction of new vaccines, developing countries are facing serious challenges in their vaccine supply and logistics systems. Storage capacity bottlenecks occur at national, regional, and district levels and system inefficiencies threaten vaccine access, availability, and quality. As countries adopt newer and more expensive vaccines and attempt to reach people at different ages and in new settings, their logistics systems must be strengthened and optimized.

Methods: Adipose tissue was sampled from the abdominal wall during autopsy of a 75-year old man who had died from a kidney cancer. The concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), p,p'-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDE), hexachlorobenzene (HCB), chlordanes and tetrabromodiphenyl ether (TeBDE) were determined on lipid basis.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe report the course of a 55-year-old woman, the first patient with primary Sjögren's syndrome and distal renal tubular acidosis but without lymphoma to be treated with B-cell depletion using Rituximab. Rapidly after B-cell depletion, remarkable improvement in xerostomia occurred, while serological findings and tubular acidosis have been unchanged. In labial salivary gland biopsy, lymphocyte infiltration and particularly CD20-positive cells decreased strikingly.
