Methamphetamine use is associated with a range of cardiovascular conditions including hypertension and heart failure. Beta-blocker use is commonly avoided when treating patients intoxicated with methamphetamines due to a fear of inducing unopposed alpha stimulation and worsening hypertension. We performed a retrospective review of medical records in a county hospital in California with a high prevalence of methamphetamine users.

Tissue identification is essential for surgeons to properly perform procedures and make informed decisions to minimize potential harm to patients. Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) offers enhanced patient safety and outcomes at the cost of lost information due to restricted vision and loss of touch, among other factors. This makes it more difficult to quickly and consistently identify tissues correctly.

The purpose of this meeting was to accelerate advances in clinical trials for patients with high-risk NMIBC. The meeting delivered a multidisciplinary expert consensus on optimal strategies for next-generation clinical trial designs in NMIBC with prioritization of combination therapies.

We discuss several classes of patient-derived models of central nervous system tumors, highlighting unique features of each. Each class of models holds promise to improve treatment selection, prolong survival, and enhance patient outcomes.

To enable these measurements, we developed and validated deep learning models to automate tibiofemoral cartilage and bone segmentation from double-echo steady-state magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.
