Survey on Cardiologists' Perspectives on Cardiac Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS).

: Cardiac point of care ultrasound (POCUS) has been used with increasing frequency. As a result of this trend, this study sought to characterize cardiologists' perspectives on cardiac POCUS. An 18-question survey on demographics, cardiac POCUS clinical practice, education, and infrastructure was distributed by 16 academic medical centers.

Virtual Home Care for Patients With Acute Illness.

Importance: Recent evolutions in clinical care and remote monitoring suggest that some acute illnesses no longer require intravenous therapy and inpatient hospitalization.

Objective: To describe outcomes of patients receiving care in a new, outpatient, virtual, home-based acute care model called Safer@Home.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective cohort analysis, conducted from September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023, included 2466 patients treated at a safety net hospital in Los Angeles County for 10 core illnesses and 24 other acute illnesses for which patients are commonly hospitalized.

Generation of a Nonbilayer Lipid Nanoenvironment after Epitope Binding Potentiates Neutralizing HIV-1 MPER Antibody.

Establishment of interactions with the envelope lipids is a cardinal feature of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) that recognize the Env membrane-proximal external region (MPER) of HIV. The lipid envelope constitutes a relevant component of the full "quinary" MPER epitope, and thus antibodies may be optimized through engineering their capacity to interact with lipids. However, the role of the chemically complex lipid nanoenvironment in the mechanism of MPER molecular recognition and viral neutralization remains poorly understood.

Sensory input from osphradium is involved in fluoride detection that alters feeding and memory phenotype in Lymnaea stagnalis.

Fluoride (F-) exposure in organisms remains a significant concern due to its widespread presence and potential health implications. Investigating its detection and subsequent effects on behaviour in aquatic organisms like Lymnaea stagnalis provides valuable insights. Our study focused on elucidating the sensory pathways involved in F- detection and its impact on feeding and memory formation.
