Methods: Twenty-two healthy subjects and two patients with bilateral peripheral vestibular failure took part in the study.
Peripheral vestibular activation results in multi-level responses, from brainstem-mediated reflexes (e.g. vestibular ocular reflex - VOR) to perception of self-motion.
