Left atrial veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (LAVA-ECMO) in cardiogenic shock (CS) is a novel mechanical cardiocirculatory support strategy that provides robust cardiocirculatory support and simultaneous left and right atrial venting by way of a multifenestrated transeptal catheter.
