Objective: A telepathology connection between Richmond VAMC and Beckley VAMC using dynamic robotic telepathology to provide pathology services remotely was established.

Materials And Methods: This study reports a 14-month experience using telepathology to diagnose surgical specimens obtained from patients at the Beckley VA Medical Center and viewed in Richmond 250 miles away. Over 14 months, 2325 slides representing 1000 cases were viewed.

This case report describes an aggressive form of accelerated atherosclerosis predicted early after transplant by dobutamine stress echocardiography in a patient who died of massive myocardial infarction 32 months after transplantation. The main objective finding of this event was markedly increased cardiac filling pressures during an elective cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography. The literature is briefly reviewed.

Fabry's disease is a lipid storage disease found in children and adults. The lipid is stored as a myelin-figure-like whorl of membranes in endothelial and smooth muscle cells, myocardium, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells of the glomerulus. The lipid deposits are identifiable by light microscopy, but are much easier to demonstrate by electron microscopy.
