The test for the evaluation of the toxicity of different types of pertussis preparations as manifested by their in vitro influence on mouse thymic cells (T test) has been finally worked out. The use of the T test has made it possible to reveal the nonstandard character of the production lots of adsorbed diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus vaccines, both whole-cell vaccine and Japanese acellular vaccine. The degree of the in vitro damaging action of pertussis preparations on mouse thymic cells greatly depends on the residual content of Bordetella pertussis nontoxoidized toxin which, in contrast to B.

The results of the trials of dried erythrocyte immunoglobulin immunodiagnosticum for the detection of hepatitis A virus antigen, developed by a group of scientists at the Tashkent Research Institute for Vaccines and Sera, are presented. The immunodiagnosticum is specific to hepatitis A virus antigen and suitable for the detection of this antigen in fecal and urine samples from patients with viral hepatitis A in the acute stage of the disease.

The effectiveness of some immunological methods for diagnosing dysentery has been compared. This comparison has indicated that such methods as the determination of the presence of specific sensitization in the patients (by the indirect mast cell degranulation test), the detection of circulating complement-fixing antibodies to Shigella (by the complement fixation test) and antigenically reactive lymphocytes (by the lymphocyte agglutination test with the use of the antigen and by the indirect rosette-formation test) are more stable, expressive and sensitive than other serological tests and may be used for the complex clinical and laboratory diagnosis of this disease.

Antiglobulin Coombs' test was included into the complex of sero-allergic reactions used for selection of the groups of population to be vaccinated by epidemiological indications, for the purpose of studying the incomplete antibodies in age aspect under conditions of the existing foci of brucellosis infection.
