[Antioxidant therapy of purulent wounds in animal experiments].

A new complex method for treating purulent wounds has been elaborated in the experiment on 22 mature chinchilla rabbits with a simulated abscess. It has been established that a combined use of a 2% alcohol solution of ionol, a 10% aqueous solution of urotropin for irrigation of the wound cavity and a single administration of nialamide cuts down the time two-fold for cleaning wounds and development of granulations and by 40% for the wound complete healing.

[Indications and contraindications to the removal of foreign bodies from the gastrointestinal tract].

The article describes 163 patients with foreign bodies in the gastro-intestinal tract. The operative method of treatment was used in 57 patients. Urgent operations were performed in 34 patients with multiple foreign bodies and symptoms of peritonitis.

[Active surgical treatment of suppurative wounds and acute suppurative diseases].

Advantages of the active surgical treatment are convincingly shown by the analysis of results of the treatment of 122 patients with purulent wounds and acute purulent diseases by traditional methods (opening the suppurative focus, drainage of the wound with gauze tampons) or the active surgical method (initial surgical treatment of the purulent wound or focus, drainage with a plastic tube, fractional or permanent washing of the wound) in combination with antibiotic therapy, application of enzymatic, antienzymatic and immunological agents.
