Key challenges in developing a gene therapy for Usher syndrome: machine-assisted scoping review.

Despite compelling empirical evidence demonstrating its efficacy, gene therapies for usher syndrome (USH) are not yet available for the patient's usage. This scoping review assessed the current scenario and analysed the challenges in implementing gene therapies for USH. A literature search was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar through an artificial intelligence (AI) tool, MaiA, focusing on relevant publications from the last 10 years.

Association between clinician team segregation, receipt of cardiovascular care and outcomes in valvular heart diseases.

Aims: Racial disparities exist in clinical outcomes for valvular heart disease (VHD). It is unknown whether clinician segregation contributes to these disparities. Among an adequately insured population, we evaluated the relationship between clinician segregation in a hospital and receipt of care by a cardiologist according to patient race.

Police Involvement in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest: A Qualitative Exploration of Law Enforcement Roles and Contributing Organizational Factors.

Objectives: Many American police organizations respond to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). This study sought to: 1) explore variation in the role of police in OHCA across emergency medical systems and 2) identify factors influencing this variation.

Methods: We conducted a qualitative multisite case study analysis using data collected through semi-structured key informant interviews and multidisciplinary focus groups with telecommunicators, fire, police, emergency medical services, and hospital personnel across nine Michigan emergency systems of care.
