Organophosphorus (OP) poisoning is the most common type of poisoning in India. Amongst the OP, monocrotophos poisoning has the highest lethality and need for mechanical ventilation. Monocrotophos is also implicated in causing OP-induced intermediate syndrome, the prevalence of which is 10-40% of all OP poisoning.

The condensation product (L) of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde and ethylenediamine has been synthesised and characterised. L showed a 21 times enhancement in fluorescence intensity on interaction with Ce in CHOH at λ = 360 nm when excited with 270 nm photons. Metal ions K, Na, Al, Co, Hg, Cd, Ni, Zn, Mn, Mg and Ca do not interfere.

Background: Process development involving system metabolic engineering and bioprocess engineering has become one of the major thrust for the development of therapeutic proteins or enzymes. Pichia pastoris has emerged as a prominent host for the production of therapeutic protein or enzymes. Regardless of producing high protein titers, various cellular and process level bottlenecks restrict the expression of recombinant proteins in P.
