Introduction: This systematic literature review was performed to establish the mechanism, methodology, characteristics, clinical application and opportunities of the T-Scan III System as a diagnostic tool for digital occlusal analysis in different fields of dentistry, precisely in orthodontics.

Methods: Searching of electronic databases, using MEDLINE and PubMed, hand searching of relevant key journals, and screening of reference lists of included studies with no language restriction was performed. Publications providing statistically examined data were included for systematic review.

Biosurfactant activity and naphthalene degradation by a new strain identified as Bacillus cereus 28BN were studied. The strain grew well and produced effective biosurfactants in the presence of n-alkanes, naphthalene, crude oil and vegetable oils. The biosurfactants were detected by the surface tension lowering of the medium, thin layer chromatography and infrared spectra analysis.

Vibrational analysis of the two conformers of furfural and 2-chlorobenzaldehyde has been carried out on the basis of their IR and Raman spectra measured in isotropic and anisotropic (nematic liquid crystalline) solvent. The average orientation of the individual conformers in the nematic solvent has been determined by means of a recently developed approach for low symmetry planar molecules using DFT calculations of the vibrational transitions moments. The complex shape of the carbonyl band additionally split into several components is interpreted as an effect of Fermi resonance.

A new strain Renibacterium salmoninarum 27BN was isolated for its capacity to utilize n-hexadecane as sole substrate. Growth on n-hexadecane was accompanied with the production of glycolipid surface active substances detected by surface pressure lowering and emulsifying activity. Glycolipid detection by thin layer chromatography and infrared spectra analyses showed for the first time that Renibacterium salmoninarum 27BN secretes the two rhamnolipids RLL and RRLL typical for Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The infrared absorption spectra of 2-[4-( N -dodecanoylamino)phenyl]-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (also denoted AF51) in solution and in the solid state as well as the solid-state Raman spectrum of the powdered compound are compared with the infrared linear dichroic (LD) spectra recorded at two orthogonal polarizations. The IR-LD spectra were measured in an anisotropic solvent-the nematic liquid crystal ZLI-1695 (Merck). The solvent spectrum taken under precisely the same experimental conditions and polarized radiation azimuths was subtracted from the polarized sample spectra in order to achieve pure oriented spectra of the compound studied.
