Configurational effects of intergenerational support on older adults' depression: an empirical study from CHARLS data.

Background: The influence of different dimensions of intergenerational support on depression in older adults has a configuration effect. Existing researches have only used linear analyses to examine the independent effects of each dimension of intergenerational support on depression in older adults, resulting in the nature of the effects of each dimension of intergenerational support on the presence of depression in older adults remaining highly controversial.

Objective: To explore the synergy and substitution effects (configurational effects) of dimensions of intergenerational support on depression in older adults.

Background: People with malignancy of undefined primary origin (MUO) have a poor prognosis and may undergo a protracted diagnostic workup causing patient distress and high cancer related costs. Not having a primary diagnosis limits timely site-specific treatment and access to precision medicine. There is a need to improve the diagnostic process, and healthcare delivery and support for these patients.

Polarity-sensitive pyrene fluorescent probes for multi-organelle imaging in living cells.

Polarity-sensitive probes (PAS) were synthesized through the attachment of azetidine and sulfonyl substituents to the pyrene fluorescent core. The emission peaks and fluorescence lifetimes of these PAS probes exhibit high sensitivity to polarity, enabling the visualization of microenvironmental characteristics and dynamics across multiple organelles.

Greater neural delay discounting on reward evaluation in anhedonia.

Background/objective: Recent years have witnessed a surge of interest in dissecting the anticipatory and the consummatory aspects of anhedonia in terms of temporal dynamics. However, few research has directly examined reward valuation as a function of time in anhedonia.

Method: Using a delay discounting task, this event-related potential study examined the neural representation of rewards available immediately or in six months in a high-anhedonia group ( = 40) and a low-anhedonia group ( = 40) recruited from a nonclinical sample.
