Background: Community-acquired acute kidney injury (CA-acute kidney injury) is under-recognized in the outpatient setting and is associated with adverse outcomes.

Methods: We analyzed the incidence of CA-acute kidney injury in an academic primary care practice and community health center and assessed recognition and follow-up as determined by repeat creatinine measurement (closed-loop). We reviewed 93,259 specimens for 36,593 unique patients from January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2021.

We report, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, a continuous wave trivalent thulium ion (Tm)-doped bulk glass near 2.3 µm. In the experiments, a bulk Tm-doped tellurite glass with the stoichiometric composition of 74TeO-12ZnO-4LaO-10NaO (Tm:TZLN) was used.

Passively Q-switched 5-µm Ce-doped selenide glass laser using Fe:CdTe and Fe:CdSe as saturable absorbers.

The first, to the best of our knowledge, mid-infrared Q-switched Ce-doped glass laser is demonstrated. As saturable absorbers, Fe:CdSe and Fe:CdTe are used for the first time. When Q-switched by Fe:CdSe, the laser operates in a multi-pulse regime with an individual pulse width of 110 ns, centered at λ = 5.
