Ingestion capacity of PMN cells in peripheral blood of rabbits experimentally infected with VHD (viral haemorrhagic disease) virus strains originating from various biotopes.

The study presents results of investigations on ingestion capacity in rabbits experimentally infected with two French strains (Fr-1 and Fr-2) and four Polish strains (KGM, SGM, MAL, Kr-1) of VHD virus. The results proved that the strains studied exhibited distinct reactivity even if the VHD virus is thought to be uniform in the biological respect.

Dynamic alterations in selected indices of non-specific cell-mediated immunity in rabbits experimentally infected with VHD (viral hemorrhagic disease) virus.

Results of studies are presented on non-specific cell-mediated immunity in rabbits experimentally infected with two strains of VHD virus, differing in their biological properties. The results indicate that the applied strains exhibit different immune reactivities, which points to the presence of immunotypes within the virus.

Selected indices of non-specific humoral immunity in rabbits experimentally infected with non-hemagglutinogenic strain of VHD (viral hemorrhagic disease) virus.

This study aimed at an evaluation of selected indices of non-specific humoral immunity, myeloperoxidase and lysozyme, in rabbits following administration of a non-hemagglutinogenic strain of VHD virus. The results obtained indicate participation of the mechanisms in response to the administered antigen.
