The authors report a standardised comparison between MRI, CT and Tomography, in 30 cases of tracheal lesions (postintubation, tumors, external compressions and invasions). They conclude on the superiority of MRI because of its multiplanar visualisation, its soft-tissue contrast resolution and its capability to differentiate inflammatory granuloma.

At the same time a close watch was kept for signs of sepsis. Low pFN levels regularly accompanied--but did not precede--infectious episodes and were also found in patients without septic complications.
