Background: Studies show that tube feeding does not improve clinical outcomes, and professional guidelines recommend against its use for individuals with advanced dementia. Yet, our preliminary work demonstrates a preference for tube feeding among Chinese-American dementia caregivers. We propose linguistic and cultural adaptation of "Making Choices: Feeding Options for Patients with Dementia (MCFODA) to create the Chinese version of this efficacious decision aid intervention.

Background: Most persons living with dementia (PLWD) experience sleep disturbances at some point during their disease. Music interventions are promising to address sleep disturbances because long-term memory for music remains relatively preserved in PLWD. The purpose of this study was to identify the prototype features of the mobile application, entitled, "Calming Music Personalized for Sleep Enhancement in PeRsons living with Dementia" (CoMPoSER) for use among PLWD and their caregivers by conducting the first round of qualitative interviews to co-design the content, features, and layout of the application prototype.

Functionalized Periosteum-Derived Microsphere-Hydrogel with Sequential Release of E7 Short Peptide/miR217 for Large Bone Defect Repairing.

Large bone defects are still a persistent challenge in orthopedics. The availability limitations and associated complications of autologous and allogeneic bone have prompted an increasing reliance on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. In this study, we developed an injectable scaffold combining an acellular extracellular periosteal matrix hydrogel with poly(d,l-lactate--glycol-acetate) microspheres loaded with the E7 peptide and miR217 (miR217/E7@MP-GEL).

Phage therapy as an alternative strategy for oral bacterial infections: a systematic review.

Background: Oral infectious diseases, such as dental caries, periodontitis and periapical periodontitis, are often complicated by causative bacterial biofilm formation and significantly impact human oral health and quality of life. Bacteriophage (phage) therapy has emerged as a potential alternative with successful applications in antimicrobial trials. While therapeutic use of phages has been considered as effective treatment of some infectious diseases, related research focusing on oral infectious diseases is few and lacks attention.
