[Symptomatic atrial fibrillation revealing chronic constrictive pericarditis in a young patient: A case report with a review of the literature].

Chronic Constrictive pericarditis (CCP) is a rare clinical entity that can pose diagnostic problems. Constrictive pericarditis is the final stage of a chronic inflammatory process characterized by fibrous thickening and calcification of the pericardium that impairs diastolic filling, reduces cardiac output, and ultimately leads to right heart failure and to atrial dilatation which can caused supravetricular arrythmia. Transthoracic echocardiography, computed tomography, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging each can reveal severe diastolic dysfunction, increased pericardial thickness and calcifications.

[Complications of coronary invasive procedures in nonagenarians: A case-control study].

Introduction: Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in nonagenarians, whose numbers have doubled in twenty years. In the absence of recommendations, the place of coronary invasive strategy in this population remains a therapeutic challenge and its interest as well as its risks are poorly established. The aim of our study was to evaluate the safety of coronary invasive practice in the nonagenarian population for all indications.

Reduction of radiation exposure associated with renewal of the radiologic systems in coronary interventions.

Purpose: Interventional coronary procedures are an important source of radiation. This study sought to evaluate the effect of the renewal of the radiologic system on patient exposure during diagnostic coronary angiography (DCA) and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs).

Methods: DCA and PCIs were obtained from three centres, which renewed their radiologic systems during their participation in the multicentre prospective observational RAY'ACT-2 study.

Survey on practice of venom immunotherapy in France.

Introduction: Venom immunotherapy (VIT) is the only efficient prevention for sting-induced anaphylaxis, but its application is not without risks and needs precautions and standardization. European guidelines were proposed in 2005, but recent practice surveys and more recent knowledge raise the need for an update. The aim of this study was to analyze VIT practices in France, based on previous surveys in Europe but also extended to outcome event management.
